SJAA Championship Game for 5th/6th grade boys:
The Seattle Hill Trojans 5th and 6th graders triumphed in a 41-37 decision over previously undefeated Dutch Hill Panthers. The SJAA championship game was held this past Saturday afternoon at 2pm at the Snohomish High School “old gym.” In what coach and SJAA President Jerry Roth said, “it could very well be the last championship game ever held in the old gym, which is slated for future demise into a parking lot for the high school.”
Seattle Hill played an outstanding game led by clutch field goal shooting and play from Kyle Umpervich. Dutch Hill made a great comeback during the last two minutes but ultimately fell short after going into the championship game undefeated. The only other team Seattle Hill lost to during the regular season was Dutch Hill.
Both teams provided exciting play, suspense and high energy during the game. More importantly, throughout the entire season both teams displayed superb sportsmanship.
Congratulations to Coach Lawson and the Seattle Hill Trojan 5/6th grade team.
